What alcoholic beverage can someone drink that will minimize the allergic effects?
This person is allergic to mold which I think is causing the problem with beer.

I would suggest they get an allergy panel done by a doctor. There are a number of allergies which can cause issues with beer. Yeast, wheat, rice, gluten, corn, are all present in different beverages. If you don't know what they are allergic to you cannot find something that doesn't contain it.

Other problems can appear to be beer allergies but be other issues entirely. A doctor's advise is best - so they can find what they can safely drink! :)

Plus: Beer doesn't contain mold.

I agree with tercir2006 try gluten free beers like Red Bridge or Sapporo. I recommend the Sapporo for taste.

There is also a small percentage of the population (mostly of Asian decent) that are allergic to alcohol period. Not the ingredients of beer of wine but the actual ethanol alcohol.

I wouldn't agree with the mold part since fermentation is fermentation and all alcohol goes through some form of it.

Everyone is allergic to Mold.

It is posible they are allergic to an ingrediant in the Beer. Or to Fluoride as I seem to be.

They can try Wine or Vodka.

Wine made in the US would be a good Indicator if they are allergic to something in the water here like Fluoride. Then they might find out they have no problems with Wine made in other countries.

Beer can be made from Hops or Potatoes.

Are they allergic to Potatoes, Yams, Sweet Potatoes, Grains, Wheat, or Barley? Those are all things that are used in Beers. They may find Beers that lack ingrediants they are allergic to.

Some people are more prone to getting drunk while others can't seem to get drunk. If that is the real issue then make them drink over iced flavored drinks and eat food before or during drinking.

BTW: "I am Allergic to Alcohol" & "I am Allergic to Beer" are both Code for "I am an Alcoholic". Also Beer gets full of Falmaldihyde ( makes you drunk/dehydrated faster, kills organs) and Fluoride ( another thing that collects in your organs).

NOTHING!!!

Curing an allergy CANNOT be done by switching to another type of booze...

The ONLY thing you can do is find another drink to have whenever you go out - start with something simple like wine, or a rum and coke - and go wherever your tastebuds take you ;););)

Sounds like you might want to try some gluton free beer.

Do bread products also make you sick? If so - it's a gluton alergy.
