i've had it since birth, so did my dad, and brother. i went to a sleep study center after i was referred by my doctor. the cpap has to be fit to your face. what they do is hook you up to wires to monitor your heart, and breathing, etc, then they will wake you up, then put a cpap they fit for you earlier, on you. they will ask you to breathe through your nose as much as possible. a report will be sent to your doctor, and he will give you a prescription to get one at a medical supply.

I use CPAP and you don't want to get it yourself. You should do the sleep test for the doctor set the CPAP at the right setting. CPAP save my life. But you should try to get it on your own. It costs over a thousand bucks without an insurance.

In most countries, you would need a prescription.
It's not advisable to self-prescribe.
If you reside in the US, it's ill-advised to attempt an online
purchase without a valid prescription from a US licensed
doc.
Also, getting it "cheap" online, you run the risk of purchasing counterfeit medication.
Read the guidelines set forth by the FDA.
