God took several hundred years to carefully give us the Bible thru the writings of inspired men. No other book is like it in that it covers eternity to eternity from "in the beginning God created" in Genesis 1:1 to the final Amen of Revelation.
The Bible does explain all we need to know, outside of the "secret" things of God:
"The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law." - Deuteronomy 29:29.
"O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!" - Romans 11:33.

Well, God, through the Bible, has told us all we need to know. There are I suppose some things the Bible doesn't speak about specifically, but even then we can take other teachings in the Bible and draw an application for some things that are unclear. The Bible says, "All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work" (2nd Timothy 3:16-17). Are you trusting your life to Christ and His Word every day?

Dear April,
The Bible is not meant to answer and explain every single question, those it does touch on a lot of areas of life.
The Bible is God's revelation to man of who He is, how to have a relationship with Him through His Son Jesus Christ, and how to live out that relationship.
The Bible does touch on different topics: history, science, geography, etc. but never claims to answer every single question.
If you want to learn about cells, etc. you don't turn to the Bible because it doesn't claim to be a science book. Although the science that the Bible teaches is true. For example there was a time when scientists thought you could count the number of stars in the sky and scientists actually tried to count them all and they concluded they are innumerable (which is exactly what the Bible says). Archaeology discovers daily ruins of places mentioned in the Bible that dates back accurately, and so the Bible claims to be true and claims to teach us about how to know God and love God and i think in God's eyes knowing God and loving God is more essential than knowing everything.
Hope that helps. Kindly,
Nickster

The bible is a book by an unknown author, nothing more. Can it explain modern technology? Or dinosaurs, or the age of the earth?

There are lots of things the bible cannot explain. It doesn't touch on the Bernoulli effect, for instance. I also can't find a good recipe for 7-layer dip in it.

The dinosaurs. If the world is 6,000 years old, and if science is incorrect and an extinction event didn't happen 65,000,000 years ago to wipe them out, then what happened to them?

Sad question. The same to also be applied to the Harry Potter books...doesn't make it true though.
