What do you think?
Seems like some people's idea of Holiness is a bit "starchy" is you know what I mean. They're so very meloncholly, bland, rigid, fridgid, and boring and they act like that's a good thing. What are your thougths?

My thoughts are that Jesus came to give us life and life more abundantly! Not a pickle-puss! It is very possible to live happy and holy! It is a choice and God doesn't want us to be blaaaaaaaaaaa!

This world is full of division. Some people are treated better than others and some are treated worse. Joy has nothing to do with circumstances. Joy is knowing the Lord and circumstances may cause the things you mentioned or worse. Holiness or righteousness is invisible, not something you can see or something of this world. It is a spiritual gift through believing, not seeing in behavior.

Life in a phone booth. God did not draw a white line to walk upon, and often those people not only have the fear of straying, but are sometimes very judgmental of others as well. To me life is the pursuit of freedom. God's word is guidance. A person cannot be a witness without a personality. God bless.

Many people are never taught that they can't live a godly life in the flesh and they try the best THEY can. It is the Holy Spirit who lives the godly life through me. Also we must continually deal with the sins in our lives and study the Word of God because the Holy Spirit flows through clean vessels of honor fit for His use not clogged up vessels.

Holy living just means living by the rules that God has given us. It is definitely not joyless! We have the love of Christ and promise of Heaven-what could be more joyful than that!? We must simply choose not to seek the things of the world.

Not at all. Some of us Christians might live that way and others only appear to be that way. Maybe because you do not take the time to get to know them?

I have been a Christian since last year June and am still a fun loving guy, cracking jokes and stuff.

i am a christian, and I am usually always in a good mood. I laugh at some things which some might think are crude, but ya know what... MY God has a sense of humor and if he didn't, then I dare say i wouldn't be alive right now. :-)

God wants us to be happy, and joyful. Not to be sad and mopey. And I believe He wants us to good influences to other ppl, like LOOK happy, because if I wasn't a christian and saw someone all doomy and gloomy all the time, i wouldn't want to become a 'christian' if that's what it meant.

I have seen this myself, however, in their lack of what would seemingly be joy, or of any sort of spirit or love of life, there is a sense of appreciation that they have for what they have.

I think if you have an appreciation for living a devoted Christian life then that would be your choice and that in doing so you would be happy. Happiness is internal, as is spirituality. Therefore, those to whom you a rererring, might not seem to be happy, it is in their decision to live in a disciplined way, religiously, that allows them the sense of accomplishment that gives them, maybe not happiness, but satisfaction. This sometimes can be harder to achieve and can last longer than just plain joyfullness. All in all, though I think its a matter of choice, and with every choice that we make, we are striving to achieve a personal gain one way or another. This would just be theirs.

It doesn't have to be that way. God gave us many wonderful things to enjoy. Some by Him, some by people. Those types of people are just cheating themselves out of the God given joys of living in this world.

Holy living is holy living....Do people have to be unholy to have a good time?
I would say the people who have the most fun are those that are Holy......What kind of life are you talking about? Do you want to have a wild part of some kind?...Do things that are not of God? There must be something on your mind.that is not holy....
There is a holy way to have sex......
Tell me what is on your mind for sure....what you are wanting to do....And those people that are like you described should be just like Jesus calls them to be...
