A woman wrote about her elderly aunt during her last illness, which was very drawn out. I helped take care of her, and all that time everyone in the family was praying for her to regain her health. She stopped breathing several times, but they brought her back. Finally, one day she looked at me and she said, "Joan I have been over there, over to the beyond and it is so beautiful over there! I want to stay, but I can't as long as you keep praying for me to stay with you. Your prayers are holding me over here. Please don't pray any more." We did all stop, and shortly after that she died.. What are your thoughts?

What a beautiful story. I do believe in the future as I believe in the past. I believe in dark and light. I believe in good and evil. I believe in Heaven and Hell. I believe in life and death. The soul, created in love, is eternal because love is eternal. We have free choice to believe whatever we want as far as God is concerned. Our choices will be judged when it is time.

I do not believe in the afterlife.

Our brain is deluged with pain-reducing neurochemicals when we are near death and that may give us a sense of euphoria and brightness. When my doctor first gave me Zoloft, the dosage was too high and I literally saw the world shimmering in light! I imagine the concept is similar to the "light at the end of the tunnel."

My thought is...either you are reposting something you saw somewhere or your name is Joan.

Personally...an afterlife of sorts or not...I don't believe praying is any magical thing, only thoughts in a person's head, and no going to keep someone alive.

She told the truth, just like it is. Yes, it is a wonderful place to go to. Yes, the afterlife is real to those who choose survival.

My thought is. It was her time to die and she knew it. Sometimes God reveals things to us in a blunt way like that. She was able to tell you straight out. She is now @ peace, so should you be. Sometimes God uses a still small voice, sometimes in other ways. Anyway God chooses is great and we should always listen.
