...then shouldn't we all be in church right now, instead of preaching our religion to some very educated people?

Much love!

In church... donating food to a shelter... helping others... etc.

Many people say the believe in God and say they are Christian, but if they spent more time doing Christian things and less time on the internet, Christians wouldn't have such a bad reputation!

Please read the added details. Obviously I do not expect you to break into a church, loves.

Don't people learn better through experience? Of course the Bible tells us to help the beggar on the street, but do you actually do it?

Dear Cas,

People go to church to corporately do something that they should be doing in their private lives: worshipping God. You can actually measure how obedient a church is not by how many people go on Sunday but by what the congregation members due Monday through Saturday.

Some of the actiivities of the church do include reaching out to the community and world. And its something that is done both as a church and as individuals. For example i just had a chance to pray and buy a meal for a homeless man this morning. Our church will be going to a shelter in LA with two other churches to serve the homeless tomorrow night.

i think it's a bit unfair to say that Christians aren't doing anything productive for society because we spend time on the internet. i know my purpose on coming on Yahoo answers is to be a blessing to others and to share about God from a Biblical perspective. i think Jesus didn't always plan on meeting needs- he meet people's needs as he met people. Engaging in a conversation with your co-worker or classmate, helping a lady carry her groceries to the car, are all as spiritual as going to a church, etc.

You are correct genuine faith is shown by our actions and actions are a reflection of our heart. Each and every individual Christian will give a personal account to the Lord one day, and i prefer to encourage people- and i know that there are genuine Christians who are on this website sharing God's love. Both educated and uneducated people need God's love.

Kindly,

Nickster

1. Is being in church the most compelling action I can take as a Christian? I don't know--I've slept through a lot of sermons, so I think I can do better.

2. Is that what we're doing--preaching our religion to very educated people? I thought we were just answering questions.

Props, Cas.

Sorry Cas, but you're a Christian and spending lots of time on the internet, too. Why aren't you in church right now?

A "church" is defined as a group of people gathering. I don't see where they gather is of importance. If you go to church to find answers, can't you go to the internet to find them too? I don't even mean just here on Answers. There is a multitude of spiritual guidance on the internet. It's people connecting to people that really makes a "church".

once I observed what you have been asserting, i presumed there have been 2 worlds in contact. in one international, those words are meant to rigidity impressionable human beings into action. from time to time in a manipulative way by potential of a flesh presser, somebody who expects activism. So the reason of the appliance is significant, i think of. In yet another international, we don't elect to be one in each and every of those human beings who says numerous issues and yet does not something. i can't think of of what else to assert, different than I pray that God enables me with answering those questions. devoid of Him i may be rather undesirable here.

We all fall short of the glory of God. We will never be able to devote 24 hrs a day to God. I donate my time and labor to charity ect but I can't do it every waking minute. we have the right to recreational time for ourselves.

No, we should be OUTSIDE, being with people, treating them as we want to be treated.
We need to be helping others, loving others, etc.

I don't preach,,,,never have,,,never will, don't believe in it.

Surely you don't believe we need to be in church all the time!

"Actions speak louder than words" isn't in the Bible.

Jesus says to preach verbally and openly in the Bible.
