(Please don't answer by saying blithely that you *know* he does, just pretend that somehow proof had been furnished that he definitely did not) Would you then live your life differently? Would you be less kind? Would you experiment with homosexual desires? The crux of my question is, what have you "given up" for your faith? Or would you actually live the same as you do now?

At that precise moment, if in fact, I had absolute proof that God did not exist, I would have to be omniscient, having examined all places - and at all times - to prove he did not exist and at that moment, I would become a God, thereby proving he does exist. Becoming a God, I would probably live life a little differently than now.

It is an impossible task. I cannot pretend even with acting and stage experience, that I had absolute proof that God did not exist. See, accidents are rarely, if ever, wished for or something to look forward to. That being the case, there is no way that many complex accidents-no matter how long of a time span allotted-could have made this many animals, trees, rocks, flowers, water, etc. Most people, like me, cannot even fathom a number that big...it would be much much more than 1 in a 10 to the thousandth power (a 1 with a thousand zeroes after it). So, that being the case, no God? No US!! No us, no pretending...of any kind. As for what I have "given up"? I have given up eternal damnation, torment in fire, and eternity without God. Just those 3 things are all I can think of at the moment so I will stop there. What has God "given up" for your faith? His own Son. Not bad...not bad at all. Very nice considering I thought Him a fool and a joke for most of my life until about 6 years ago. And He loved me anyway.

That's a really good question. Hard to answer. I'd really have to think about it but there are some things I can think of. I wouldn't feel guilty about having sex before marriage. I probably would have committed suicide like I wanted to when I was being beaten by my boyfriend. The only thing that kept me viable even a little was my relationship w/God and knowing that committing suicide sends you down with murderers. I wouldn't be less kind. There would be a big difference in the world though so it would be kind of scary!!

The problem with your Question is you are with it trying to prove a point. It was not posed by someone with no vested interest in the conclusion. Nothing a believer says will sway your opinion. There is no proof that he does not exist. There is proof Santa Claus , Easter bunny, and the tooth Fairy. If God is made up like all other hoaxes why can't the most brilliant and highest paid Scientists prove it and dash our dreams of the hereafter? People like to feel they are good. Even murderers routinely make this claim.

You see, Thats just it, I cannot, and the reason is really...most likely beyond your ability to comprehend,.
See, when you are truly saved, something supernatural happens, in that moment, you are 'touched' by God.

Your mind is transformed, and renewed, an Atheist will say that that is Brainwashing, Hah ! they know nothing, they are in fact brainwashed for saying that I am brainwashed (To infinity)
A person saved is Transformed, In the Greek that means "metemorphosis", and from then on that person knows that he knows that he knows without any doubts That God exist, and he/she cannot even pretend that He doesn't.

You asked what have I given up with My faith ? It is not what I have given up, it is what I gained, you see, a person saved no longer has those desires, they may be tempted by them from thime to time, but it has less hold on us unlike it did before.

the question is, what are you giving up to give in to your sexula desires, answer : Eternal Life

I haven't " given up" anything for my faith except for self absorption, lust, greed, and telling lies. I wouldn't change because I love the person I have become so yes, I would live the same only my heart would be broken and I would feel empty.

I would live the same way I do now. I'm kind to others and treat people as I want to be treated. Life is better that way.

My life would be pretty much the same, but I would probably tend to read less stuff of a religious nature.

The only thing that would change about my life would be the lack of God part. I would talk to myself, and probably still pray out of habit.

Jesus taught some pretty b*tchin' things. Like not to judge, not to kill -- all of that good stuff. It kind of primed my basic morals.

Homosexual desires? Honey, I act on them already. No one is perfect.
