I'm one of those who doesn't believe there is a "correct" age to have children. If you feel ready at the age of 24, then go for it. Some people are more ready for such responsibilities at a younger age than others.

I say wait until you know you won't regret having children. I waited until age 45 to have my first child. I finished college, had a successful career, traveled around the world, then found a man my age and similarly accomplished who also wanted to settle down and start a family.

No regrets, either. At this age I can focus on parenting without wondering what woulda-coulda-shoulda been. Becoming a parent is a lifetime commitment, more important than any paying job you could ever hold.

I didn't find my soulmate/husband until I was 29, we married when I was 30 and just had our first child Nov-06 at 33 years of age. We want to have 3 children, so given my age and risk, we are only spacing them 1.5 years apart. We are pregnant again, due Apr-08. I wish I had met my husband sooner so that I could've started sooner. It's more physically tiring than I thought and all my friends who are trying to conceive at my age +/- 4 years are having trouble.

When I was in middle school, I always said that I would:
1) finish college @ the age of 23 & become a teacher
2) get married @ the age of 24
3) have a baby @ the age of 25

Funny, how I did just that! (I was actually 24 when I had my son~ 2 months shy of being 25) He's now 19 months old. I do plan to have 3 more children, hopefully there will be nice age gaps:)

EDIT: What did I receive a thumbs down for??~ lol

I recently married September 1, 2007, so my husband and I are thinking about waiting 1-2 years.

Maybe around 24?
I want to graduate from college, get married soon after, and start my career. Two or three years after that, I want to begin considering a baby.
I just want to get married and enjoy life with my husband. Once we've done our thing, and saved up some money, we can start thinking of a child, so that we can give him/her/them ALL of the attention they need.

I'm currently 20 years old, and pregnant with my first child.
I always wanted to have my first around 20, my second around 25, and my third right at 30. I like the age gap.

My wife and I want to wait until she's thirty or I've finished at least my first two years of medical school. Whichever comes first (hopefully it will be because I finished my second year of med school)
