I have Windows Media Player 11 and I have sharing enabled and my PS3 is recognized as an "unknown device" with a green check next to it. I used to be able to stream from my PC to PS3 but now I can't. It may have something to do with Norton Internet Security 2007 that I just installed but I can't figure out what to do. If anyone can help me, I'd appreciate it very much. Thanks.

To Bull Goose Loony: I realize that it's a firewall problem, but I don't which ports I need to open. In general, Norton Internet Security is very confusing to me and I hate Symantec customer service so I was hoping someone could guide me through the process of adjusting my firewall settings. Thanks.

Norton Securite has a firewall, which watches all of your data transfer activities (as any other firewall). You'll need to let your protection program to permit to windows media use certain port for PS3 data transfer.

Using the TVersity media server, I have been able to stream media files to my PS3 over the network. TVersity will transcode the files on the fly if necessary. It can also stream from internet sources like Hulu (not Hulu+ - HULU), BBC, and other sites that the PS3 can't support. However this is different that sending your monitor's image to the TV. For that you would have to connect the PC to your TV with video and audio cables. As you know the VGA cable won't carry audio but some TVs have a separate audio input for its VGA input or you could run the audio cables to a stereo or receiver or soundbar or other pair of (powered) computer speakers.
