There was someone I went to high school with that I dated. I moved away and he joined the army. I truely believe that we were meant to be together. We recently got the chance to talk to one another. But we have both moved on. It is just a part of life. You make choices and life goes on....

Yep. I had a BIG crush on a guy in high school.
He was cute and so was I, but I was very shy (in those dayz.)
It really surprised me when he started going with this skanky-looking, dumpy chick, who wasn't even a very nice person.
That broke the spell...
He didn't appeal to me at all after that! LOL

This has happened plenty of times. Many of those times, it was a "blessing in disguise". I don't mean that in the sense of having "sour apples". I just found things out or realized things about those people after my infatuation subsided.

Nope. I'm happy where I am right now - 2 years and 4 months with the first boyfriend i've ever had and we're doing great. ;3

There's this guy that I would really like to date now. We tried it a few months ago, actually. The thing is, he's not a Christian and that's a must for me. So I'm just hoping that one day things will be different.

It's happened to me before too. In your case, if the girl turned out to be mean, then what difference does it make? I would change that to "I'm glad I didn't date that girl".
