The catalytic converter is covered under the vehicles emissions warranty if the vehicle was sold in the US. Depending on year they are typically 8 years/80,000 miles. This warranty coverage is mandated by the federal government.

I don't know what year your talking, or what your mileage is. If the factory warranty is expired, most likely your out of luck. The converter is not considered part of the drive train. Check with your local Ford dealer. If not, and you feel cheated, ask them for the ford hot line, call, and express your opinion. They may give in and help. Right now Ford is trying to keep their people happy in hopes they will continue buying Fords. Good luck.
