What does this mean and how can I fix it?

SAL is self-assessment library. That is the CD I was trying to run when I got the error.

Not quite an answer to your question, but when I did a Yahoo! search for "sal.exe", I came up with some indications that this might be a piece of malware. You might want to run your anti-malware programs.
