I cured my allergies naturally for free. I'm horribly allergic to mold, dust, and cat dander.

An allergy is your body overreacting to something it recognizes as foreign. The key word here is "overreacting".

Two ferns that actually grow in my area naturally cured my allergies. Many ferns are capable of this similar medicinal effect. For me; maidenhair fern did OK but licorice fern (root) did the best. I simply got some of the root and made a tea. Allergies went away. In fact I rarely have flare ups.

Get yourself a good plant identification book that is specific to your area. Find out which plants help with a sensitive immune system or overreacting immune system. Pay close attention to the ferns.

Some books will teach you how to make a tincture. Tinctures are good cause you can have them on hand in case things get ugly.

I've found that no mater where I'm at there is a plant that grows near by that can cure my ailment.

Be sure to identify your plants correctly!!! Many plants are poisonous and some are instantly fatal.

Not comfortable with doing it yourself? Take a naturalist class on medicinal plants in your area. Wilderness Awarness School in Duvall, WA teaches such classes that last a day.

Drugs over the counter and prescription I've found only cover up the symptoms and the problem persists as soon as the drugs wear off. Besides drugs have too many side effects for me and cause more problems than solve.

I'm including some references that I've found helpful.

There is no exact "cure" for allergies. Treatments are either mainly by medications or natural means. Avoiding allergens is one good way of combatting allergies.

Medicines do not "cure" allergies. They merely treat the symptoms and hence,do not address the root cause of your allergies. This means that even if you take medications and appear to get relief, your allergies can come back again and again. Excessive use of medications create other problems such as side effects, and increase the toxicity of your body.

There are several natural ways of healing from allergies. You can try acupuncture, herbal remedies, homeopathy, etc.

What is recommended is a change in diet and lifestyle, that includes avoiding allergens, to build a stronger immune system.

I control my allergies with daily oral medication as well as allergy injections, chiropractic, and have used oral remedies in the past (bee pollen, maybe?)

I now take Allegra but just switched from Zyrtec (which suddenly stopped working for me). Claritin is an over-the-counter alternative, but has never worked for me. Clarinex is the prescription variation of Claritin.

I have been getting allergy injections for about ten years and have noticed a SIGNIFICANT difference. These are expensive and kind of a pain (every week for a year, then treatment tapers off) but work great!

My chiropractor has been quite successful at treating allergies in others (my friend's daughter for one), but it has only worked somewhat for me.

And herbal remedies are oftentimes effective as well. I have not been keeping up on the latest herbal remedies, but in the past have had a lot of luck with these.

My next step is acupuncture! I am told it works great!

Good luck! This is a lifelong problem that will be only be controlled by experimenting with different drugs, treatments, and remedies.

I swear by zyrtec d, but it is expensive, even with insurance. A lot of ppl use allegra, especially with its otc availability, but it never worked for me. You could start allergy shots if your symptoms are bad enough.

Benedryal works well on an as needed basis. Tylonal and advil both have sinus and allergy formulas.

The best thing is figure out what you are reacting to and try to avoid as much as possible. If you feel your symptoms are bad enough, go see an allergist.

No Cure, Just meds to treat the symptoms in most cases. Best to move someplace that doesn't have what you're allergic to!
