Hotdogs are smaller, thinner and generally made of the disgusting parts of animals such as tails, tongues ect.

Sausages are made of much better meat, are not processed as much and are larger.

First off frankfurters are not made from lips or tails or any of the gnarly stuff that people what to believe. Way back in 1906 the Pure Food and Drug Act and the Meat Inspection Acts made sure that such practices were done away with, thanks to Upton Sinclair's book "The Jungle".

Secondly, a frankfurter is a type of sausage. A mild finely ground sausage.

they are all sausages. a variety of of German cities have an section recipe and the sausage is termed after them. So the classic sausage from Frankfurt is a frankfurter. If it really is made from rooster and turkey, frankfurter it ain't. A warm canine sausage is a dusseldorfer, originating in Düsseldorf. And at the same time as JFK said "Ich bin ein Berliner" it meant "i'm a cupcake".

They are all sausages. Various German cities have a local recipe and the sausage is named after them. So the typical sausage from Frankfurt is a frankfurter. If it's produced from chook and turkey, frankfurter it ain't. A sizzling dog sausage is a dusseldorfer, originating in Düsseldorf. And when JFK said "Ich bin ein Berliner" it supposed "i'm a cupcake".

most of these people that answered are not right. A hot dog usually starts with the remenants of animals ( pork, beef, chicken etc...) depending on what type you buy. After the butcher takes all the good parts he puts all the "leftovers" in a big bucket and that gets ground up, formed, and turned into a delicious baseball game snack. Sausages are usually better cuts of meat from various animals that is ground like hamburger then inserted into a casing. Usually made from intestines of the animal. Bon apetite

Sausages are made of different meats, such as beef, pork, turkey or chicken, or combinations of meat, with added fillers and spices or seasonings. The only difference between sausages and franks, frankly, is the taste and what meats and seasonings go into their production.

Hot dogs are made from pig parts that would otherwise be considered inedible (lips gums, eyelids, really anything that gets pressure blasted off the carcass after they strip if of the meat). Sausage is made from a mix of fat, meat from legs, back, and the like, and wrapped (traditionally) in the animal's intestines.

You asked.

Made in diffrent ways I think as a sausage is made from fresh meat stuffs and a frankfurter is made from processed meats to give it that rubbery taste!

Frankfurter is just a name for a kind of sausage, like kielbasa, etc. Each variety has slight differences in ingredients and spices.

Yes hotdogs are sometimes made from pigs but the meat is either smoked or cured, which is why it tastes diffferent to a sausage
