Okay well i liek this guy but he will be 19 at the end of the month. I am only 17 but turning 18 in May. I live in canada. Is this leagal? I am pretty sure it is. But I am just checking.

My doesnt mind. She is the one saying "we should invited him over for dinner" ect ect...She likes him and I think she is trying to set us up. All that would happen is we would date.

I think it is legal. "Age of consent" is the issue. In other words, if your parents don't mind, its up to you to decide for yourself.

I am not sure about Canada. You can legally date an 18 year old at 17 yes, well in Illinois that is. The law states that a 17 year old can legaly be with anyone up to 5 years older than them unless they are a figure of authority. So if you are 17 you cannot date your 21 year old high school teacher. I am 22 dating a 17 year old. it seems as thought hte laws are pretty similar between united states and Canada. But I would be google searching it before you go getting in trouble. I am sure that whatever love you two share can wait a few months if necessary. Good luck to you

Thats not a huge age difference not sure what the laws are in Canada. Worse comes to worst just date him and dont to to the next step until May.

That depends on the province and the age of consent in that province. In Ontario, the age of consent is 14 years, though the government wants to push it up to 16 or 17 years of age.

In the US it's illegal for an adult over 18 to have sex with a minor under 18. Dating has no laws as far as I know.

I would say it's legal...

most states in the us any way 17 is the age of consent check your local laws it is only illegal for the older one not you

technically it is ok if you don't have sex with him because he is considered an adult and you underaged. but once you turn 18 you are free to do whatever.
as for now, it is fine to date, just remember it is 'illegal' to 'do' anything.
