Say it like it is. "It's great having you here, but I'd like you to go now. Hope you don't mind. I need some sleep." Works everytime for me and nobody feels ofended.
Honesty is the best way and everybody who remains sitting after this is not a very polite person.

I suppose you could just tell them that it is getting late and you must rest up.
My dad in the 1950's would go into the next room and put on his sleeping wear and come out winding up his alarm clock yawning.Sounds rude but it worked.

Get up and remain on your feet. Tell them it's been very good having them, but you're sure that they must be as tired as you are, so it's time to go to bed. Open the front door pointedly as they put on their coats (if any). Keep smiling!

Switch off all the lights except the door light and tell them you need to sleep now and you will see them some other time.

Leave the room and reappear in your pajamas.

Just wish everyone a good night and go to bed. You don't have to ask them to leave, they will leave on their own. The ones that don't leave shouldn't get invited back :)

Tell them that you're tired! If that doesn't work, then offer them pillows and ask them if they'll be comfortable sleeping in the sofa?
