Do any of you think about how your children will affect the planet in the future? There are 7 billion people on this planet, and the numbers keep climbing. The earth can't even sustain the amount that is on it now, but people continue to have 3,4,5 and more kids. Is anyone out there not having kids, or only having 1 trying to bring down the human population?

Do you do anything to combat it? Use cloth diapers, drive a hybrid, anything to attempt to offset the fact you are bringing yet another planet destroying human onto the planet? I'm just curious if anyone thinks about it at all.

I do what I can to teach my kids to be "green." They're both proactive in this regard, my daughter more than my son though. I don't regret having my children even though, according to you, they may ultimately put a strain on the environment.... it may be selfish, but parenthood has been my greatest lifelong achievement. I wouldn't have missed it for anything.

Humans may be destructive, but some can also be productive. Perhaps my children will be part of the next generation who helps to save the environment from (or is it: in spite of ?) the destructive humans you mention.

No, why should I? Currently everyone can be divided up into a family of four and everyone can have 20 acres of land. That's plenty of land to sustain that family.

The population can triple and still have plenty of room.

You just suffer from the fear of large numbers.

If the population bothers you, don't have kids. I love people like Algore telling us just to have 2 kids to prevent over population while he has 4 kids. How much of a hypocrite can one man be?

No, I don't think about it. Yet another question about off-ing some of the human population. There must be a lot of little Hitlers around.
