i have gone through quite a bit in my life. Nothing too horrible, but i sure have gone through pain in this world. I have been evacuated 3 times out of a country, and my mom has had breast cancer. It's been hard, but because i believe in Christ I have been made strong. he is worth living through.
This is a poem I wrote after I evacuated out of Ivory Coast, West Africa...
Rose from a Thorn
So many hardships, sufferings occur
All things that beautify are just a blur
Pain cuts you like a deepy piercing thorn
And all you can but do is cry and mourn
Thus tri'ls devour you, and there is no end
You feel alone like you don't have a riend
All you can think about is searing pain
Forgetting God's all mighty healing name
He watches you go through severity
He wants us to see Him with clarity
Call out to Him and He will make a way
All through the darkness that we see today
Out of the thron will bloom a scarlet rose
Its wondrous beauty will be exposed
Maturity and love will bloom and grow
God's perfect will and purpose you will know
What is a slendid rose without a thorn?
It make the roses's beauty be reborn.
What is life if no trial to endure?
It will create a thankful heart so pure.

Life is meant to be a struggle. Thorns on roses are the least of our worries. Genetic egineering could solve that problem. What we need to do is stop complaining, and start addressing all the many serious problem, we have in this world. You can not get the most out of your human potential, unless you struggle and have a rough time of it. Life is not for the weak of character or the lazy. We could have a lot better world, if more people would stuggle more, to make things better. Pain is part of life, learn to handle it. Then you can relate to, and help others who are in pain.

Roses don't have thorns....thorny bushes have roses! Perspective, dear, Perspective.
For the record, though, life has problems because of all the sinners that live on the earth (and that would be every single person on the planet). It's the consequences of sin. If we didn't sin there would be no "thorns".

Because roses, just like God, and just like fire, for example (which is NOT evil by the way...get rid of that stereotype...God made fire too), they can provide some (or in God's case, all) kinds of comfort, peace, joy, etc. BUT YOU NEED TO RESPECT AND FOLLOW THE GUIDELINES that are, in all three cases, very obvious. Again, in God's case, we are to read His Word every day and His Guidelines (not rules, remember, He gave us free will) but if we choose to ignore those (which are for our own protection and good in all three cases again) then we will suffer consequences of various levels of severity (from a finger-prick from a thorn to burning some part of yourself). God put many things on this Earth that, in some way or another, resemble and reflect a part (or some parts) of Him. Roses are indeed very beautiful, soft, smell wonderful, can be used to cheer someone up, and I could easily think of at least 5 more as could any of you I am sure. Just...be careful: you can see exactly how you need to respect and hold it, so do it. Cool, huh?

Why would roses having thorns make life less worth living? They can engineer a thornless variety now, so put the cyanide pill down, my friend. There is hope.

Love is the most Beautiful thing on earth, but it still hurts sometimes.
Jesus was the most precious gift God ever gave us, but He had to Give His life to Save us. The beauty of a rose represents the good, and the thorn represents the evil, Jesus wants us to serve him, the devil trys to keep us away with his thorns, I decided along time ago to become a Christian, it was the best decision I ever made. I am happier right now than I have ever been. Jesus said that we must be Born Again, have you ever been saved or Born Again, it will change your life, Jesus will send his Holy Spirit into your heart and He will give you a joy and a peace you never had before. Jesus definitely changed my life and I know He can change yours to. His death on the Cross washes away our sins and when we get Born Again He makes us clean forever more. If you would like to get Born Again and be a new person inside here's how. Just pray this sinners prayer of faith believing in Jesus with all your heart and soul, just pray Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of God, rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life.
