If you are sure that the sender unit is OK ,it can only be the wiring or the fuel gauge .

I had this ensue to me. After the gas grew to become into under a a million/2 tank the gauge began appearing all erratic. this is likely the sending unit long gone undesirable. this is related to the gas pump interior the gas tank. by using fact that they are going to drop the gas tank than you may evaluate changing the gas pump. Assuming you have allot of miles and age to the motor vehicle and plan on protecting the vehicle.

You said the sending unit is ok, but what about the guage?
To check this; locate sending unit, unplug it, key on; then; ground the wires one by one and w\someone eyeballing the guage; If nothing happens then it`s either the guage itself, or an open circuit between sending unit and guage.
