well I'd say to tell the truth, but everyones beat me to it.
instead I'll tell you about a girl I dated. She spoke german and very well.
but anytime we went any where she would speak german even though the person she was talking to spoke english and so did she.
I didn't play along EVER...... and I ended up dumping her.
sooooooo.... don't worry about german.
OR you could pull a JFK and say "Ich bin ein Berliner"
he ment to say "I am a Berlin-er" but instead it translated into
"I am a jelly doughnut"

Yes well, you've done what any normal person does...bullshit to impress, been down this road many times here's how to get out of this sitsu "I can speak German" say something "Volkswagen.....I can also speak Japanese...Mitsubishi" ect.
finish with Ich lieber dichs not sure about spelling translates, I love you, said ick libber dick,... hmm I'd be impressed if a girl said that to me!!!

haha well you might not have a problem with getting phrases and stuff if you use freetranslation.com but the pronunciation is a whole nother story haha.
i did that once. i have said that i can speak french, italian, spanish and its all true but sometimes they ask to say particular things and i had no clue...so very embarrasing.
tell him you should have rephrased it. your INTERESTED in learning german. haha thats always a good way to cover up that little mishap haha good luck

Best not to be like "i lied" guys honestly don't care too much if a girl can speak 2424 languages. Can brush it off and be like heres how you say virgin in german "goodintight" kind of like gutten taug or however they say it. Just brush it off like a joke and for future reference...don't lie to impress...that is the guys job to do that =P
