I am a mother of three. I can honestly say no child is my favorite. Now some days one may be less of a challenge or handful or another may be exceptionally sweet, but none of that changes my love for them.
I wondered the same thing you are asking, prior to my having kids. I couldnt see how someone could NOT have a favorite. But now that I have three, its like there is more love to be spread between them all, not more for one than another.

I think most people do, but don't want to admit it for fear of showing favoritism. Some kids are just more lovable than others, and some have more winning personalities, are smarter, are cuter, more outgoing, more laid back, etc. etc. People tend to favor the child that is most like themselves. And yes, if you're wondering, I do too, but I have always tried to treat my kids and grandkids equally. They are all amazing and I love them dearly. Although I do have my favorites, I could never choose one over the other. It would be impossible. So it's best to let that remain a secret, known only to you and to the Lord......

I only have one child right now, but if I had two, I don't know how I could pick a favorite. I read this, asked myself what I'd do if I had to choose which one would be taken away from me. I couldn't choose. I'd just fall down in the floor and cry. I love my little boy, and if I had two of him, I'd have twice the love to give them. So, no, even if I had two, I wouldn't be able to pick a favorite.

I have two children. I don't have a favorite, but I do love them differently. One could be so lovable but too wired. The other is just so sweet when at home, but stays in trouble at school. No matter what, I would give my life for both. They are part of you and so you really can't love one anymore than the other.

I would not use the word favorites, because your kids are like the fingers in your hand...you love them all, your life won't be the same without one or more, meaning that you love them the same....BUT, and he comes the but, that many people will think is favoritism......he can talk and deal easier with some of our kids than others, here is the the difference. Some kids are more rebels than others, some are smarter than others, (and they use their brains, to talk smartly to parents and get what they want....) also, they will keep good grades. be good students, etc. etc. etc.
On the other kids, they are in trouble always, they are big mouths, etc.etc.etc. these are maybe treated differently of course.....but we love them the same................

It's difficult to have a favorite when they are so independently different from one another. I love them for who they are, and for each of their qualities & characteristics, no more than the other. There are definately days when I don't like how they are acting, or what they are doing, but I will always love them both, unconditionally, with all my heart; for that is what they have brought me.

I have one I like better than the other 2 but love them all the same.
This one is the one that is polite, and cute, and just a great kid that is always doing right...my fear is he will be the one wit the black clothes and spiked hair and 500 piercings like those kids at the mall....

No, not a favorite, but all children are different. My son was easy to raise, my daughter was difficult. As adults, they are still individuals, and I have to respect their individuality.
