In terms of "total firepower", meaning a combination of personnel, finances, imports and exports, inventory, and logistics (ability to move their military).

It does NOT take quality of equipment, experience, and nukes into consideration.

1 United States - (see below)

2 Russia - Lots of old but still effective equipment, huge producer of oil, huge exporter of arms.

3 China - Huge manpower, large spending power.

4 India - Pretty good all around

5 Germany - Excellent industry and mobility, also good all around.

6 France - Works with Germany so much they might as well be the same military.

7 Japan - HUGE spending power, good mobility.

8 Turkey - Good inventories

9 Brazil - Decent strength, very mobile.

10 Great Britain - Can sustain itself on oil, big importer/exporter.

The United States vastly leads in Air Force and Navy size and strength, Missile defense systems (anti-tank/air missiles), Cross Country mobility (Equipment Transportation), total # of Airports, imports and exports, and total military expenditure. Russia has about twice as much armor such as tanks and APCs as us, remember they were planning on rolling over Europe for a long time. We also have very little infantry support systems (mortars, personal anti-tank missiles) and artillery in comparison to Russia, China, Iran, or France, and import much more oil than we produce. Our total number of manpower is only behind China and India, who have well over 1 billion citizens each, where we only have 1/4 of a billion.

Israel is # 26 between Sweden and Greece. While it is true they have a shitload of armor and well trained troops and good equipment, they don't really have good manpower, they have next to no navy, and a small air force. Also, my source states that training is not taken into consideration, due to it being hard to rank beyond how much the military spends on it.

How are you ranking them? Each country might think they are the best. You would have to rank them by budget or size, something like that.
