Which cultural group was first seen having a widow's peak and widow's locks on their foreheads?

Think it is of English Heritage. A friend of mine is from India and she has one however, England ruled India. A friend of mine is African American and she has one however, the English ruled them in America.

I don't think a widow's peak or widow's locks are specific to any nationality, I think it's just one of those quirky little things that turn up in families, like curly hair, or big hands, it just shows up, my friend has one and she's Scottish.

A widow's peak like dimples and a cleft chin are caused by a combination of recessive genes not necessarily linked with any one ethnicity. Then again, anyone possessing a widow's peak might be a distant cousin of Jack Nicholson.
