what about people who did die in the crash? And if God wanted you to live, wouldn't it be easier to just not have the plane crash in the first place?

I have often challenged God believers with this type of question. In the past, I have asked why a person who is sick could pray to be healed and then in a seemingly miracles way, they get better and yet there are thousands of other people who are far more sick then that person was and they pray for the same kind of miracle and nothing good comes out of that prayer. The only answer any of them have ever been able to give me is "God works in mysterious ways".Kind of convenient, isn't it?

"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you" Matthew 7:7

This verse is the best way to stump anyone who suggests that the reason some are not gifted with "blessings" by having their prayers answered is because "God works in mysterious ways".This verse doesn't mention anything about "mysterious ways" when suggesting that "asking" of God will render results in your favor.

Things that make me go hmmm......

Proof of God is anything but proof.....

Well for people who survive such a horrific experience as a plane crash, especially where others die, have to find some way of justifying thier life and other's death....
Survivors Guilt probably plays into that alot I would imagine...you would probably have to find a way to justify your life in the face of an event like that where others die...and really, what else could you possibly say to that, other than that some Higher Power had a hand in who lived and died?

I think God sets choices in front of you, and its up to you to make them..and then based on your decision, he sets another choice in front of you to make..and so on and so on...

It would not necessarily prove God's existence in and of itself. Yes the fact that you survived a plane crash would be a miracle, but bare in mind that God does not step down out of heaven and alter every event. Sometimes it is just plain dumb luck. But that doesn't mean that you shouldn't thank God for your survival. After all, it just wasn't your turn to go home. So you can thank God and His calender. :)

People some times look for other things, when it is hard for them to have faith in God to start with, You can have all the proof you need just by believing that Jesus Christ went to the cross for our sins, and asking The Lord into your life, some people will bend over backwards looking for proof, when there is so much if we just open our eyes, and get rid of doubt.

I don't think it should be considered proof, I think that there are too many of these "god has a plan for us all" "god doesn't give us more than we can handle" "everything happens for a reason" statements, i think ppl just say that or think it to help them cope with traumatic events. And exactly what about the ppl that die, what what about the ppl that commit suicide over the death of the loved one???

Proof of God comes only thru personal revelation by God thru the Holy Ghost.

You cant prove or disprove personal revelation to another person.

It would be a miracle...whether you consider it from God's hand or not.

People change after such serious traumas...if that was God's will for that person to survive, the accident might have needed to happen for the person to begin to travel the path He felt they needed to.

many christians believe we are critically injured because of sin in our lives, sort of like being cursed to reincarnate, but because christians do not reincarnate, they believe you can be cursed by god in your current life. surviving a crash is no indication god is on your side. the US has forgotten that tidbit. god is not on our side, if he were, we would not need a military. don't believe everything you hear about 'good' christians.

God doesn't cause a plane to crash.

The only proof that god intervenes in lives would be if an amputee was miraculously healed. Gee, I wonder why god doesn't heal amputees.
