Best case scenario...all the training we have given those who want the best for Iraq pay off and they get their country moving in the right direction and will stay a true ally for us.

Worse case scenario...another psycho gets in charge and we have to start all over again.

Best case: contained civil war in Iraq.
Worst case: the conflict spreads through-
out the whole region. Which is actually
the likely case. The Kurds would probably
use the chaos to intensify their activities
in Turkey which would likely lead to an
invasion by Turkey. Iran would likely support
the Shiites and this could easily escalate
from covert to open hostilities. And not
to forget the terrorists. With Iraq being
completely out of control they have a very
comfy place to train, recruit and to use as
base for operations in the neighborhood.

The bottom line is. We can't leave. Not with
and not without the monkey being in charge
before the situation is remotely stable. We
ordered it. We have to eat it.

Liberals love Vietnam analogies, look at the example of our cutting and running from Vietnam.

Millions of civilians were slaughtered throughout multiple countries in SE Asia from the resulting chaos.

Iraq and the entire Arabian Peninsula will be on fire as the Shiites, Sunnis, Kurds, terrorist and their third country sponsors fight for a real-estate grab.

Best case would be Hillary gets the Democrat nomination, loses the general election, and Iraq continues to stabilize with US support...

disbanding the military is not the answer. The old saying "peace thru superior firepower" has some merits. The idea behind it is that if someone takes a shot at you or attempts to attack you *your country* you respond with such a overwhelming force that you send a message with a wasp colony hierarchy aka "Mess with us and you'll be in serious pain" besides the protection of our freedoms, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, the Military and Government/Defense contracts are a large portion of the gross domestic product. I too would enjoy a world without the threats and possibilities of Nuclear warfare, but it seems to be on the rise again.

Unfortunately I don't think there is a line between best and worst case scenario's, I think whether we are there or not, they will continue to kill each other, sunni's and shiites can not seem to get along. Lebanon is approaching the same kind of infighting. we just need to leave and let them figure it out. Killings yes there will be if we leave, but that is happening with us there. It's their country let them take control of their own destiny.

Best case: Miraculously, they all get along and the new government, though weak, inexperienced, and going against what the people there have known for 12,000 years, survives.

Worst case: There is a civil war and a dictator takes over. This dictator then bears feelings of hatred for the USA like Iran does. Enter WWIII.

i don't know if it's best, worst, or otherwise: turkey takes northern iraq, iran immediately takes the shatt al arab and the east, all the way to the euphrates, saudi claims everything west of the euphrates, perhaps syria evens out their border. good, bad, or whatever the natural order is attained. jordan loses out because their uncle sammy bails, but they'll be alright. in tel aviv, a wailing, and gnashing of teeth.
