I view them in about the same light...

do what you want in your own house, (or in this case even church)

but quit doing it in public, and don't force it on anyone to see it, or participate...

enough said?

Cute question ... definitely an attention-getter. But you have a valid point. If someone else wants to have sex with you, or someone else wants to talk about religion with you, then it's okay; but don't force yourself on someone in either case! Hey, I think we've come up with a new concept: religious rape!

I was going to say no at first but then when i read further down I must say I completely agree with you.
And in a sense religious belief can be viewed as a form of mental masturbation, it's based on no facts and it's usually completely self-indulgent fantasy.

In terms of the public/private distinction that you mention, I definitely view religion and sex in the same way.

The only difference is that I wouldn't choose to watch public displays of religiosity.

I can see what you're saying.

It bothers me to see PDA between any couples (gay OR straight) and so I can accept it would bother non-religious people to see religion in public. I can definitely respect a leave it at home policy.

Yeah, when I saw you question at first it was WHAT? but then I LOL'ed. But I agree, we need to stop shoving our beliefs down everyone's throats or else it won't work either way.
