isn't really a religion, but a "relationship" with christ....couldn't one just as easily make the claim that atheism isn't really a religion, but a relationship with "no higher power in particular"????

That's exactly it. Christianity is a relationship with Christ and a commitment to follow Him

Atheism is a relationship with no higher power and commitment to no one

What?

The whole "Christianity isn't a religion but a relationship with Christ thing," makes ABSOLUTELY no sense to me. Of COURSE Christianity is a religion.

Atheism is not a religion at all, but a total lack of religion and belief in a supreme being/s.

Maybe I'm missing your point.

Christianity is a religion b/c there are set codes/values/traditions that most follow. With atheism the main idea is to do what you want and what feels right; to figure out what you believe. A religion explicitly tells you what to believe.

There is no logic in atheism. If I were an atheist I would try and conquer the world and enslave all for my will. Why do atheist even want to exist? Work, go home, work, go home. I mean what a sad existence. Racing through space at 60,000 miles an hour with no one at the controls. Deep down, atheist want to believe. What other choice do they have? Shalom.

How does someone have a "relationship" with nothing aka "no higher power in particular"? So I guess my answer would be NO. A atheist claims they are sure there is nothing there with which to have a relationship in a religious (beyond nature) or spiritual sense.

If that is what you choose to believe, well then okay. It would probably be futile to try and get you to understand.

I will be praying a prayer that Paul prayed in the New Teastament, however-That The Holy Spirit opens your understanding so that you may know The Hope Of His Calling and that you may be able to comprehend, with all the Saints, the fullness of God's love towards us that He worked in Christ Jesus.

God Bless.

Atheism is a relationship or religion of man... it's about ego... man thinks that he's better and greater than God and therefore has no further use for Him... this is exactly what Satan thought when he was an angel/cherub and look what happened to Him?

Atheism is really a form of Hinduism. The worship of mother nature, and the believe that dust created the heavens and the earth. As well as the belief that each person is their own God, which is impossible considering mankind is finite.
