I wouldn't believe what it said anyhow. If it's to be taken 100% literally, then several sections are self-contradictory.

I take it literal. I would like to share an ensample of the literal Hebrew Scriptures. Take a look at Sodom and Gomorrah, they are still sitting where Kefa (Peter) said they were and if Josephus saw them they are still there for us to see. I have in my possession many piece of brim stone taken from Gomorrah. It can still be lit on fire and will burn. Yes, I take it literal.

If the Christians took the Bible 100% literally, there would be WAY more Amish communities... and less McDonalds.

I'd not only agree with "The most ignorant of the ignorant already take it literally."
I'd add that the most ignorant take it literally on both sides --- "Adam and Eve were the first humans - the Bible is without error." "If Adam and Eve were the first humans, did their children commit incest -- the Bible can't be true."
Literalists are simplistic. The anthology that is the Bible is too important to the development of Western civilization to be venerated or dismissed by fools.
-- for literalists who "believe it," I wonder when they cut off hands and poke out eyes to prevent people from sinning -- as Jesus told them. (He also said he's the vine and the gate-- are those literal, too?)
