I was driving up a busy road earlier it had cars parked on my side of the road. Well the cars in front of me were going round the parked cars and I looked to see if the way as clear which to me it did look clear, then I saw this white van which was stationary on the opposite side of the road he was letting the other traffic through. There was no where for me to pull in so I carried on. Well the van came right at me I stopped as I knew I couldn't fit through the gap and ended up smashing my wing mirror as I tried getting out of his way. Anyway his van got scraped by my other wing mirror and he stopped and gave me a right mouthfull. He was foreign and had pretty good english, I tried to explain my side of the story but he didn't really listen. Anyway I gave him my details etc but I forgot to get his and as he was so angry I didn't get out of my car to see the damage done to his van. When I looked at my wing mirror that supposedly scrtched his van it didn't even have paint on it surely if

It had damaged it so much that it was scratched all along the side then I would have loads of white paint on my wing mirror?

I have never had a crash before so if he does get in touch with my insurace company when will they contact me and what will I have to do?

He said he might not do anything about it but I'm not so sure. Also he did mention that he had been travelling for 12 hours and was tired?
Very confused at the mo sorry to blabb on!!

Any help and advice would be cool thanks allot!

The bully won the whole idea was to make you forget to take his number. Did he take yours ? He may have done but I doubt it, he was driving with no licence no tax and no insurance. I would tell you insurance company because it is obviously over the excess. It is possible that he might claim from you so get your statement ready now while it is fresh in your mind. Witha diagram. You will need it sooner or later

Don't worry. If he contacts your insurance company you get his details. He won't - he probably has no insurance. He will probably have the dents knocked out and some coach paint will hide the damage. I pranged a big van into a steel girder once - the lads in the company garage fixed it for me - no one reported anything.

Your right ,your mirror couldn't do a lot of damage. They fold in if they are hit hard . I wouldn't worry about it,he will probably never call it in.

Actually you should contact your insurance agent and tell him what you do know, location, and so forth, so that if he does contact your insurance they will be prepared. Don't worry about it, just let your insurance handle anything that happens to come up.
