We believe that Jesus Christ knelt in the Garden of Gethsemene and took upon himself the sins of the world. That he died on the cross and arose three days later so that we may have hope in the ressurection for Eternal life. We believe that Jesus organized his church while on this earh. We believe that he arose into heaven and sits on the right hand of God awaiting the second coming.

The idea that you outline goes along with most every version of Christianity that there is from Catholics to Mormons. Calling it a cult is a misrepresentation of what you're outlining.

in my opinion any group that convinces its followers of logical absurdities is a cult, the one you are talking about is part of the common christian beleifs today, if christianity wants to exit the domain of another cult, in my opinion they need to stop preaching that people have to have faith in something to just be considered good. and teach that it is wise to figure things out for yourself and make your own judgements about ethics
