My current spouse hasn't hit me YET but I wouldn't put it past him to do it; he has a wicked temper

I've been shaken by a man (more of a boy) and I left and didn't come back till 4 the next day.

And I gave a guy a black eye once (we were sparring).

If a man ever really hit me, he'd be in the hospital that same night. They have to fall asleep eventually, a good time to practice using your baseball bat.

I've told every man I've dated this and they've all been respectful. But don't you go slapping a man every chance you get because then you're a hypocrite!

Almost, but it was a fight or flight reaction!! I'd never hit a woman on purpose.

Years ago, a girl sucker punched me when I rounded a corner, and I went into survival mode. I had no idea who hit me or what was going on, I just swung back. By the time it registered that I was about to hit a girl, I was too far into the swing to stop. I managed to get my fist open and pull most of the force back by falling backwards, but I still did this awkward finger-poke into her shoulder, then I fell on my ***.

I didn't "hit" her exactly, but had I not done that it would have been a pretty solid hit. Fortunately she thought it was funny as hell, not only that she sucker punched me, but she was entertained by the awkward show that followed. I still felt like crap for almost hitting her though.

No MAN would ever hit a woman. Those males that do hit women are not MEN in my eyes. And if I ever met one I would show them what it feals like to be hit by a real MAN

The only reason ANY adult (male or female) should hit another person is when they are defending themselves. You shouldn't feel the desire to let out frustration or anger with your fists past the age of three or so if you're a fully functioning person. There are better ways.

I've restrained a woman before, but only because she was a danger to herself and others. Thinking back, she deserved a black eye, but I'm not the type to hit a woman unless she really asks for it (like attacks a family member).

Hmmm... not sure why this is in the Religion area, but yes, I have been hit by a man before. It's horrible to be in an abusive relationship. It is not Godly by any means. I got out of that relationship, and healed myself mentally and spiritually. Now I have a wonderful hubby that only touches me with love.

I'm an agnostic lol, and never hit a woman or been hit by a woman--my mother raised a son with more manners and couth.
