Are some better than others?

Some are high in fat and sodium, such as liverwurst, pastrami, pepperoni, etc. As long as you stick with plain deli meats, such as ham, lean roast beef and turkey, it's fine. A little high in sodium perhaps, but there are low sodium varieties.

Who cares? Listen to Dr's and something's wrong w/ everything. But they have pills for everything, and what they'll tell you is "you gotta take pills for the rest of your life". The good deli meat has no taste at all. The junk loaded w/ fat and salt is great, and nothing will shorten a life span like a load of pills every day.

I grew up on salami type meats being Eastern European and while I love them, I would not consider them really healthy as lunch meat choices. Turkey breast, things like that are much better....I mean, if you hold a piece of salami in your hand, you can feel the texture, it is fatty and oily kind of, oh I don't know you just know that it's delicious but deadly.

It can be, if you get the lower fat varieties (and skip hard slaamis w/ hunks of white lard in them).

A lot of the "health" part depends upon the cleanliness of the deli where you buy it, if they cross-contaminate slicers w/ meats and cheeses, or how often they break them down and clean them. I stick w/ Oscar Meyer, myself.

Fresh cut oven-roasted turkey is ok.
Meats like salami and ham are higher in sodium and fat and not very good for you.
