I heard that if a doctor prescribes a psycotic medication to a child and that child dies from the medication, the parents are charged with murder? Do you think that's true?

That little girl didn't deserve it. Her parents are charged with murder (they should get life in prison) because they intentionally overdosed her with ADHD medication to keep them out of their hair. She would make up excuses to the pharmacist that she needed refills and kept on feeding her pills even when she was near death. Which this raised moral and ethical questions about misdiagnosis and whether people are just resorting to drugging kids for convenience.

But yes, I wouldn't doubt such a thing would happen for someone not at fault to be blamed as a scapegoat-and the medical establishment goes on. But currently, no one can be charged with anything if the prescription dose was correct and properly followed. I suppose you can try to sue all you want, but that wouldn't be much of a strong case unless you have many people suffering complications from the drug.

Recently, there was a kid who was on prescription anti-psychosis medication, and the mother gave the kid an overdose of it. That's why the mother was charged with murder.

A parent can't be charged if they are giving the child medication as prescribed. If they are and the child dies, then it's the pharmacist and/or physician who are charged with the child's death.

I think that the only way a parent is charged if the parent gives the child TOO much medication. No clue as to why a parent would do this...but I guess it could happen. I'd pray not.
