LOL...okay.... In the first instance: if you hate your brother you cannot love God - "brother" here means brother in belief - you can't hate a fellow believer and consider yourself a follower of God. As a group of worshippers, ancient Christians (gnostic and "orthodox" if you will) were all taught to support one another, take care of each other, etc.

In the second instance: Jesus tells his apostles that their new family is their fellow believers...so if your blood family does not believe in God, then don't waste your time on them because they are just going to try to pull you away to their own beliefs, etc. So "brother" here is talking blood family members who aren't followers of Jesus' word.

there are different meanings covered by this one word hate- read the Bible and you will know and understand that God never said 'hate' your borther.
What He is talking aobut here is a comparison- you are not to hate your brother but your love for your brother should never be above your love for the Lord- it is a hatred for putting your brothers will, desires, etc above the will of the Lord, it is a hatred for following after your brother in place of following after the Lord. It is not a mater of interpretting the way you want to - if oyu take everything in its entirety you can see these themes repeated over and over and phrased and illustrated in different ways throughout the Bible- this is an extreme way of putting the same concept - but the concept is continually repeated so there is no excuse for confusion.

Think of a number line - 0 backwards to -100 is hatred, 0 forwards to 100 is love , we should not have any negative in our hearts towards our brother so just chop off that end of the number line altogether, now we have a love line 1 through 100 is love- now your love for God is 100 and your love for your brother is on the other end of that line, though it is still love- comparitively, looking at it on the line, it looks like the other extreme

read it. Luke 14:25 Now great multitudes went with Him. And He turned and said to them, 26 “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple. 27 And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple. 28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it— 29 lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, 30 saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish’? 31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? 32 Or else, while the other is still a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks conditions of peace. 33 So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.
you can't put anyone before God.You have to do God 's will above any one. That's all Jesus is tell us here don't put people over God .God has to come first in your life

I know that you found one in the Old Testament and the other in the New Testament. But it would be nice for you to give the exact references.

I can only believe that you do not truly want to hear the answer.

...the literal and the implied is what we can focus on here:

...when you hate your brother you do indeed hate God (literal)...but you must be willing to hate it when your brother comes between you and God (implied)...
