you really shouldn't shoot this wedding, you are not experienced enough. A Wedding Album is the couples first family heirloom, you will only ruin it. If you don't know what an f stop or a shutter speed is, leave it alone. Shooting in P is definately not the way. P is the reason why you see so many generic wedding photos today, it removes your creativity. Do the couple a favor , advise them to hire a more experienced photographer. They will appreciate you much more for that then you ruining their wedding day with horrible photos.

Okay... you officially clueless... you are going to get yelled at and screamed at and maybe sued... In this case I would say your best bet is to go buy a few dozen disposable cameras... put them on the tables at the reception with a note for people to snap some shots for the bride/groom... that might get you a couple of useful shots... as for yourself... go get a book at the library and make a list of the shots you'll need... God help you on lighting cause some of those shots are unlikely to be worth a flip due to poor lighting and I'm guessing you don't have much beyond a camera flash (worthless I might add)... At the very least go shoot some practice shots of people... if the wedding party is doing a run through prior to the real wedding go and shoot that (it might give you some ideas on where to be for the shots you need)... and last but not least pray.

Wow. Where to start.
G'- Diet wild cherry pepsi? Yuck.... Try Dr Pepper!!
Other than that. I am hoping there is a communication breakdown, english as a new language kind of thing.
Otherwise, all I can say is, before you charge someone any amount of dollars/yuan/schilling/mark for recording the most important day of their lives, you should know enough about photography, your camera and equipment, the business in general, and weddings in particular, that you dont need to ask that question.

I'm sorry, I just can't take you seriously. If you can't even use the proper terminology for the camera, how can you expect someone to believe that you're a pro?
Setting the camera on "P" just doesn't cut the mustard. That's for general all round applications; most people getting married are going to expect more than this. It's an emotional time for them and if you don't get it right, they're gonna kill you. Are you sure you're ready for this?

If you have no idea how to use your camera in manual mode for different types of avilable lighting, then you have no business charging people for photography services.
To make it easy for yourself so you don't get sued, you should just set your camera on program and let the camera take care of it. At this point I bet the camera is smarter than you to handle the situation. Also take a wedding photog book or at least a list of photos you should shoot so you know what to do.
Just point and shoot and pray you get good photos of this once in a lifetime even in someone else's life.

ok charge $3000 and pay a "shooter" $1000 to make the images, thats what i would do
or steal images off a web site, 700k is big enough then in photoshop cut and past the grooms and brides heads onto the bodies, that way you only need to take 2 shots at the wedding - i did it and its easy - may sure the images you download the body sizes are alittle bit smaller that the actual people - then they will know your good cause you even made them slimmer

I have like this really awesome Canon, U no and it like takes really awesome movies and stuff. I get something like that. You could watch the movie and when you see something you like stop it and like make a picture. Theres a bunch of places online that do that like Flufr and you can add awesome effects like make one part of the picture a color and the rest not or make collages which are really neat too.
How long did you study and stuff to charge money? I really like pictures too and want to do that. Do you have a studio with lots of stuff in it?

Do you mean how many photos should you take?? The more the better. Once the moment is gone you cant go back, but you can always edit photos out if they are not good, or if you have too many!!
