I have fibromyalgia and am on disability for that, but this back pain is truly horrible. After the mri was taken, i bent over and now i can barely move. should i tell my dr. or is this normal with ruptured discs? my next appt. is three weeks away and I am trying to give myself time to heal, and not run to the dr. everytime something like this flares up. Any suggestions?

The simple answer is no, you should never brace your back because the muscle will atrophy. Two ruptured discs can be just that, unless they have ruptured and the nice interior material has spilled out and is touching a nerve root? If that happens you will know, the pain is bad. However as you do not seem to be in serious pain as in pass out on the floor for three hours, you might be lucky that the rupture is not next to nerve roots. You can contact your Doc but unless you have nerve involvement, he is not going to do anything.

I have one ruptured disc and inflamed sciatic nerve. I understand your pain. I would call the doctor and at least tell him what happened. Then you should ask him when exactly should you contact him. Good Luck!!!
