Why did the Founder of the Weather Channel call Global Warming the biggest scam of our time?

John Coleman wrote an article published at ICECAP Wednesday that should certainly garner attention from press members -- assuming journalism hasn't been completely replaced by propagandist activism, that is.

It is the greatest scam in history. I am amazed, appalled and highly offended by it. Global Warming; It is a SCAM. Some dastardly scientists with environmental and political motives manipulated long term scientific data to create in [sic] allusion of rapid global warming. Other scientists of the same environmental whacko type jumped into the circle to support and broaden the "research" to further enhance the totally slanted, bogus global warming claims. Their friends in government steered huge research grants their way to keep the movement going. Soon they claimed to be a consensus.

The scam is over, the people are not idiots falling for big political names and Government paid scientists creating a tax base out of thin air for themselves and partners.

The Suns output has changed plain and simple.

One major hickup in our direction and we all turn to toast.

It's clear that the Earth's temps have gone down since 1998 even though ghg's have increased many times since then.

Global warming IS the biggest scam. First, there is global warming, but it is NOT caused by humans. The sun warms the earth in cycles, and that means the Earths temperature is not going to stay the same every year. Just because the temp rises a degree doesn't mean people should get scared and think we caused it. Second, people like Al Gore use the environment simply to make money. he gets people scared with his movie, and then hes like well you can stop global warming by giving me more money. In the 80s and 90s Gore was warning everyone that there was global cooling and that there would soon be another ice age. Third, carbon dioxide levels rise AFTER phases of warming, so it doesn't change the temp at all.

I can't believe how many ignorant people will pounce on any opportunity to feel less guilty about our selfish, greedy western lifestyles.
It doesn't matter what exactly the outcome is - it's never good to pollute and consume the way we do it. Grow up and get over it.

PS - maybe you hadn't noticed but John Coleman is in the MEDIA - do you actually trust all the fanatical claims the media makes???
Honestly, enroll in a university and take some classes - get educated before you form opinions on something you know nothing about, other than what CNN and Al Gore tell you.

PPS - Furthermore, John Coleman has no scientific credentials whatsoever. He is a weather man - he is famous for saying "thorm" instead of "thunderstorm" - this is the man you base your conclusion on? Seriously!
Also - he refers to the next few decades as the time frame when climate change effects will be noticed. Has he read any subject matter on the material? Climate is not ten years, climate is the long term! And, further to his comments, there is documented evidence of significant glacial ice loss already, with trends showing only that this ice will be gone soon in the future. Sadly though, all you ignorant and gullible people out there are too stubborn to turn your lights off when you leave a room or to stop leaving your vehicle idling.

Because no one can actually know for sure. It may just be the cycle of the Earth. Maybe it is time for a huge flood, or an ice age. However it is entirely likely that we are speeding up the process. There are many things that contribute to global warming. Some are natural processes, some are not. One example of human contribution would be that there is a natural rate of reaction maintaining the ozone layer, however man-made chemicals have thrown that off. Since these man-made chemicals would not naturally exist without our creating them we have played some role in global warming. How much of a role can never truly be determined.

Further, take a look at his credentials(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Coleman_%28meteorologist%29). He is a meteorologist, not a true scientist. Speaking as a scientist who has nothing to do with the government (and is actually not practicing in the field anymore) I truly believe that humans play a role in global warming.

It isn't entirely a scam, but the information is certainly being twisted and manipulated to benefit certain people.
It's the same bull crap with recycling. It was created to make money. I won't even explain why recycling is bad because people just can't believe that it's not true. Thats what they want! They want you to believe something so deeply that you don't think twice when they introduce a new service and accompany it with a new tax or charge that pays for it.
Yes...you pay to recycle.
Did you know that con trails and smog actually have a cooling effect on the earth aside from trapping some of the heat in? It's called global dimming, and it is real. Climate change is a really complex issue and people don't want to think about anything that is complicated or difficult to feal with. That is why we will eat up whatever garbage they give us without actually looking into it for ourselves.

Haha because he knows that the carbon tax scam is not new scam. The British had a similar tax in the 1600s called the fresh air tax where they would tax you on how many windows you home had and if your windows will open or not.

Because he's right. It perpetuates and grows because there is a lot of grant money available to do research on it. However if the research concludes the GW isn't happening, there goes the source of money.

When the planet came out of the last ice age, what caused the warming that melted the ice? Tahoe's? No, it's a natural occurrence that man has no control over. We warm up, we cool down, we warm back up again.
