Is that part of the appeal of God?

With God at your side you are never alone. However, the Christian Faith means much more than that. I hope that you come to know it in its fullest meaning in your life. God Bless you always.

Yes, sometimes I may commit a sinful act and its because I am looking at the fact that I think I am alone. I know God the Father is watching me but at the same time when you don't have anybody around you and you feel isolated and alone, you forget the biggest thing. God's unconditional love to provide you with the Holy Spirit to guide you in the direction you need to be in. Actually, sometimes when I am praying for someone to enter my life so that I can have a relationship that will bear fruits of Faith, he will randomly place people in my life that just want to talk. They usually just start the conversation and then from that point we discuss various things. In that split second if I am really listening to what they are saying, I can hear God speaking to me telling me that he is always with me.

God Bless

Sometimes you will still feel alone even if you feel close to God. There's time when you think God has abandoned you. But in truth, God has never leave us. Never betray, never let us down. Just keep faith. Believing in God is not for some purpose. It is just believe in and love God. That's all.

Well, Believing and trusting in God has definitely made it to where I am never alone no matter what may happen.

But is that why I believe in God? No. I believe in God because I have seen the truth. And I never want to let go of that.

people are constantly saying so, and I try to believe; but no matter what at the end of the day when I'm laying in an empty bed I still feel utterly alone. This is not to say that your belief is a bad thing, or even to say that it is a good thing either. Just that in my experience, nothing keeps you from feeling alone.

For me, no.
I bounced between athiest and agnostic for YEARS. I didn't feel alone. I was perfectly happy in my life. It had meaning, it had purpose, it had drive.
Now I'm pagan. Do I find "comfort" in that? Sure but no less then I find comfort in my family or my friends or even cheescake (my comfort food of choice). I don't NEED the gods and the gods don't NEED me. I am here by choice.
WHY do I believe in the gods? Because I personally have had experiances with them. And it makes me happy. I find PEACE in the gods. Not comfort.

You are not alone. You are a little piece of God and so is everyone else. If everyone could realize this there would never be the possibility of feeling alone, ever.

Yes, of course. God is a man invention to have comfort and not to feel alone in life, so if you believe in God you'll never feel alone (even if you are).

Yes and yes.

But that's just a part of the 'appeal' of God, as you put it.

He's the One who will always love you no matter what. And that's a very good thing to know, and it helps you to believe that you're not just on this earth to die.

It probably is. More than an afterlife, or any other thing (i.e., answered prayer, etc). People seem to key on a lot of the supposed benefits of believing in God, but I think that is the main one (at least for me)--the assurance that you are not alone in the universe, and that you are understood.
