The last question I asked got a mixture of responses, and that's good. Now I want to know if instead the ring having a diamond or gemstone it, it's a band ring. Now will you wear that instead of a ring with one large stone on your ring finger. I know that marriage is sacred and no one should pretend to be married, but why can't a person who's commited to themselves or to a certain cause where one to remind them of the promises that they've made? I hope this question get all of you single's and married or engagedpeople out there answer this one the same.

You can do anything you want as long as you understand what responses you may get. First, most guys won't know what it is. Second, you understand that most guys won't approach you. THAT MAY INCLUDE JUST FRIENDSHIPS. If a guy has some time free would you expect him to (a) spend it talking to someone who is definitely not available romantically or (b) spend his time trying to find love and romance? So don't imagine that you are going to "just be friends" with lots of guys and then let them know you are available. You probably will never even get the chance to meet them at all. (c) Real jerks won't care if you are married or engaged and may hit on you anyway. So the only guys you are likely to talk to are the ones who will sleep with a girl the night before her wedding. SO you may get a bad selection of guys and decide to become a nun.

There's nothing wrong with reminding oneself of promises or friendships by wearing this ring! The reason I wouldn't wear it on the ring finger of my left hand is simply because many people will see it and automatically assume, no matter what type of ring it really is, that I'm married because I chose that finger! Since I don't want to appear unavailable to potential cuties, I would avoid wearing the ring on that finger on that hand. How about ring finger, right hand?

As far as I'm concerned, you can wear any kind of ring on any finger you wish whether you're single or not. It would be just like me to wear a wedding ring even though single, just because I liked the look of it. I have no regard for the "rules".

~If you put any ring on your ring finger, it will make some guys think you are married and they won't talk to you. They will be like "damn, she's cute, i want to talk to her, but oh, she's married." Put it on another finger, or your right ring finger.

i dont see anything wrong with it, diamond, gem or plain, if you make a promise to yourself...why not buy yourself a diamond? If you don't treat yourself good...can you expect anyone else to?
