Is it necessary to stay off work when diagnosed with a ulcer?

Well since it's not contagious, for the sake of other people i would say no, but the big question would be can you perform your job? if you are a police officer or a fire fighter and could hurt yourself worse then i would say yes. if you do a desk job that involves little physical activity then you are probably okay.

If the job is stressful yes as stress will cause your ulcer to act up . fallow the doctors advise and you will do well.

Only if the pain is unbearable as in peptic ulcers.
