I say that if not for the grace and mercy of God, they would be absolutely right.

I generally say not a word. The argument that's likely to ensue wouldn't do any good and simply cause the other needless suffering. If their beliefs teach THEM altruism, wisdom and compassion then who am I to argue with them? My ego isn't so much bloated anymore that I can't handle someone else's opinion, as long as it's not causing outright harm to someone ELSE.

I say nothing. I don't waste my breath, because I know I'm not going to Hell. I'm going to Heaven with Jesus and the rest of the followers of the Lamb.

I'd probably reply, 'Sorry, I must have made a wrong turn back in Albuquerque. But hey since you're here can you show me where that is on the map?'

I'm not? I never got that before. But I really hope I don't go to Hell.

I smile and walk away because I know, sadly so, that a statement like that comes from an extremely closed and crippled mind.

I just laugh and shake my head. That REALLY confuses them. But in all honestly I just pity them. I just can't imagine living like that. My other response is "On 'L' or two?" You have to be familiar with my religion to get that but it still confuses the hel out of them.

Which hell? The Christian hell, the Roman hell, or the Greek hell. I mean Christianity did steal it from earlier religions.

Only been told that once, and not seriously. My grandma told me that after I got my first tattoo (a Christian fish symbol) and I told her I'd see her there. That's just how we roll, I guess.
