Is there a Character Map toolbar for word or outlook?

Windows character map is a handy tool for inserting strange characters into word. But is there an option to snap this to the toolbar in Word or Outlook (2003).

Customize
On the list of toolbars, click Insert to highlight it
on the right side, under commands, scroll to symbol
click and drag the symbol icon up to your formatting toolbar
all you have to do now is click the symbol icon, wait a few seconds, and the symbols will display
