I have read LOTS of true crime books written by so-called 'Gangsters', and if they are to be believed, it seems the Police are often portrayed as being as criminal and corrupt as the crooks. The general public or Juries will more than not believe the police, so they do have this advantage. Who do most people believe?

I know sometimes the Police may have to break the law to catch their man, but it seems in this game of Cops and Robbers, anything goes?

Look at the source. Of course the "gangsta's" are going to say the Po-Po are corrupt, they are criminals. While there are a few corrupt police, most are not.

So you do not believe that the police could be corrupt? My goodness, are you in the US under the Bush administration right now? What planet are U on?

we know 'it takes a thief t catch a thief' and that the line is sometimes drawn very thin - but the police have to try and win this battle within the confines of the Law, otherwise what's the point? there are those who step or fall over that line, but they are few and far apart.

I would look at it on a case to case basis, but for the most part, I would believe the police.

Its like picking between the lesser of 2 evils, in my opinion they both are cut from the same cloth.
