She and a friend were caught going from drugstore to drugstore buying cold medicine in quantities, obviously knowing what they were going to do with it. It's her first offense, it was in Tupelo, MS, what is her likely sentence going to be?

Gosh, I went to two drugstores looking for an OTC allergy med, that both my son & I need. I try to get two packs so he can have one & I can. Does that mean they will be looking for me too??
If they bought in quantities high enough to be looked at, they will be investigated. I had to give my name, address, phone & underwear size...In NJ, you can't buy more than one or two packs, depending where you go.

If the intent was to manufacture drugs, I hope they go to jail! They are the reason I have to go to two stores to get two packs! PIA!

She picked the wrong time to do this. There is a great METH war going on right now and just recently laws have been strengthen. She is looking at a least 7 yrs but she most likely will not have to serve but 24 mths or so or with a good attorney she may get something like rehab and and ten yrs probation.

Conspiracy means he knew about it and participated in some way, usually by planning. He didn't have to be there to get caught and charged with it. If he knew about the meth and didn't report it, he is just as guilty as those who were making it.

Here in Okla-COMA, the sentence is really stiff for manufacturing meth. You can receive 7 to life for this offense.

In my state manufacturing is a pretty serious offense. You can get 5 yrs in the state pen.

That is of course, if you choose not to participate in the "Drug Court" program which is intense substance abuse treatment. They'll let you do drug court in lieu of prison time, but if you slip up in the program you're heading to the pen.

Boy did she pick a bad prison system to get locked up in. And she picked it, cause she knew exactly what she was doing. At least it's one more drug dealer off the streets.

I hope it is worse than here in Arkansas. We slap them on the butt with a fine. If we are serious about the war on drugs, we have to stop being wimps.
