I need to know the roles for each of the following emergency response agencies: Police Department, Fire Department, and EMS. And how they'd respond to each of the following incidents and their roles in each:
1. a fire
2. a bomb incident or bomb scare
3. an armed intruder
HELP PLEASE...this is an assignment for an independent study course that I'm taking...and I have no idea where I'm even suppose to be able to find this information!! I was unsuccessful with searching GOOGLE too.
THANKS! :-)

1. a fire - The fire department will respond to fight the fire. EMS will respond to deal with any injuries and any possible injuries to fire fighters. The police may respond particularly if crowd control is needed.
2. a bomb incident or bomb scare - The primary response would be the police. In some areas EMS and/or fire may respond proactively.
3. an armed intruder - Normally on the police would respond.
For your course I would call the non-emergency numbers of the various departments and ask them as my responses are general in nature and each department will have specific responses.
There is not "a website" that would list this. Your local departments may or may not maintain a site. I don't know where you live so there is no way for me to even search. Since you do, you can search just as well as I or call as I recommended.

You're asking for specific answers to very general questions but I'll give it a shot.
A fire. Let's say a house fire.
Around here the initail dispatch would be 3 engines, a ladder and a battalion chief.(This is called a box assignment) In small, and or volunteer departments this might be a little different with multiple departments dispatched. If the fire was determined to be a working fire, an additional engine and a rescue company would be dispatched. If the chief on scene thought he need more resources they would be dispatched as requested. The rule of thumb is to always have one company on scene in reserve in case a working company gets into trouble. If requested, a second alarm would consist of 3 more engines and another ladder.
In most areas a working fire would bring an ambulance to standy by during fire fighting operations and additional units as needed for any confirmed injuries.
Police would also respond to handle traffic and crowd control issues. The number of officers will vary as to the incident.
Bomb scare. These depend on how credible they are. A scare would most likely bring out at least one fire engine and several police officers. If the dept has a bomb dog or there is one in a close by dept, they would be called out.
If a suspicious device were found, the fire response would likely go to a box assignment or better depending on the area.
The police response would also increase, a large department might have their own bomb disposal unit which would be called out if they weren't already there. If they didnt have a bomb squad, one will be requested. This could come be a regional, or state level response. The military also has bomb squads that respond to these type of calls to assist.
Also more officers would be called in to secure and control a perimeter.
EMS would likely send at least one ambulance and possibly a supervisor.
An armed intruder. This is pretty vague but all suspects are considered armed until other wise determined so let's assume this is a burglar in a house or building. Depending of the manpower available, officers would cover the entrances and exits of a building and call in a K-9 unit to search the building. If a suspect is located, 9 times out of 10 the dog will bite him. If the suspect has barricaded himself in it might become a swat situation but these calls usually unfold pretty quickly and that ususally doesnt happen.
EMS will be called and if the fire dept are first responders, they will also be called if the dog bites the suspect or an officer. (yes this does happen)

I agree with the second person
for fire the fire department would handle it
bomb incident or bomb scare the bomb squad would handle that
an armed intruder it depends on how bad the situation is, but usually the police or swat would be there

Well, do police man carry fire hoses?
What roll would police and fire play in a bomb threat or explosion?
Do firefighters carry guns to deal with armed intruders?
Does not seem there has to be an exact answer here, so just try and guess and then maybe ask for assistance.
