The 60GB is the one I would like to purchase if I was to purchase a PS3.

Sony is desperately trying to get people to buy the PS3, and I think, they believe that psone compatible PS3 is a better deal than a ps2 compatible ps3.

Sony discontinued it because people were bitching about the price. They removed the emotion engine from the new 80 gb and used software emulation to make it cheaper.

Sony stopped making them and stores are running out of them (when they do they'll be gone forever, except for eBay).

I'm not sure what unknowm means. Both the 80gb and 60gb are PS1 and PS2 backwards compatible (the 60gb is just better at it).

they have stopped making the 60gb ps3 yet you may locate them in small shops online or in keep, and the 80gb has long gone returned to the factories as there became a default with them yet human beings will merchandising them on ebay and stuff.

It is because there were changes in hardware for the European release because it was cheaper and they decided to bring it to North America because Sony thought it would sell better.
