I tried Innova, regular and Evo with my dogs. They could not tolerate it. They had diarrhea and seemed to not feel great.
That by no means implies that Innova is a bad food. Some dogs just do not do well on it. There is no food that every dog is going to thrive on. Try stopping the food and going back to normal. If the symptoms continue, see a vet because it may be something else.

I am a HUGE Natura fan, but the Evo is a hard diet to feed properly. If you have them on the Innova (green bag) dry, I would keep them on just that. If you are trying to put some weight on the other dog, use a food made with tripe or a puppy formula. (as long as he's under 8yo.)As for the other guy, the larger stools are normal because he is getting SO much protein.l would take him off and keep him on the dry. You should see improvement within a day or so of removing the canned. Also, unless your husky is working, I would not reccomend the high protien diets, simply because they don't burn the protien off adequetly and it can do a number on their kidneys. The new craze for "ancestrial diets" is a huge contreversy right now. The example I use most frequently is that dogs have been so domesticated in the past 100's of uears, they are not running 30 miles to catch and kill their prey, therefore thay DO NOT have the same nutritional requirements. Innova is AWESOME food though! :)Good Luck!

EVO is a very high quality, grain-free food. It is also very high in protein content, which can give some dogs problems. However, given that both of those breeds were developed under conditions where their diet consisted primarily of fish, I would be somewhat surprised. I have a couple of dogs that I feed EVO reduced fat to, and they do well - one has some digestive system issues that makes me watch her diet very caarefully. I would tend to suspect the wet food more than EVO. However, to rule it out, I would first make sure the wet food was stopped, particularly if it's a cheap variety, which has a lot of grain products in it. If that doesn't show signs of improvement after 4 or 5 days, I would try something like Solid Gold Barking at the Moon, or Timberwolf Organics Wild and Natural. Both are grain-free, but have somewhat diffferent fat, protein and fiber contents.

i have had no problems with evo, almost as soon as i made the switch, their stools were firmer, and less smelly. My dogs are also very active, and thrive on the high protein diet. Not every dog can. But it is an amazing food, with exceptional quality control. I would suspect the wet food, i don't give my adult dogs canned food.
You could try another grain free food. I have used blue buffalo wilderness on my pup with great results.
try making sure everyone in your house knows about your dogs diet, and if they can't do it right, to not feed your dogs anything. take him off the canned food and see if the loose stool stops.
just as a side note, pumpkin pie filling mixed in the food works great to firm the stools.

Innova EVO is a great food, but even great foods are not "one-size-fits-all". EVO can be too rich for many dogs.
I tried it, my dog did not do well on it. (Even after a gradual switch and a couple weeks eating it, she had loose stools and horrible horrible rotten-egg smelling gas.) It doesn't mean it's a bad food, just that my dog didn't take to it well.
I have found Merrick dry foods agree with my dog very well. She does excellent on them. But again, it all depends on the dog.
If EVO isn't working out for you, you can look for other high-quality foods on this website:

Chose a 4, 5, or 6 star food. Anything 3 stars or lower I would recommend avoiding.

I gave my dog some canned food (EVO) the other day....and she had really bad diarrhea too. She mainly eats the dry stuff and it is fine with her but apparently she couldn't handle the canned food. It went away the next day. The canned food is very high in protein and very low in fiber so maybe your dogs need more fiber in their diet? Also are your pets taking any medication (like mine?) that could have an effect too. I was feeding her the canned food before the medication and she was ok. So sometimes medications can cause changes in digestion too.

.My dog, for example, didn't do well on Solid Gold AT ALL, and it's considered top quality food also. some dogs just don't do well on certain foods. might be the high protein in EVO...
.Our dog has a really sensitive stomach and problem with digesting too much protein so we knew she wouldn't do good on evo either.
.I would suggest trying Timberwolf, Orijen or Merrick.

When I was trying to find a good food for my dog (Dalmation/Pointer) who has grain issues, I put her on Evos grain free dog food. (I don't remember what they called it.) She got all stopped up, and when she did go, her stool looked like sawdust. My vet said the protein was too high for her. I think this company may have a problem with balance in their foods.

My dog does great on EVO, but he eats it because it has less allergens in it. I'va always had good experiences with Innova. Best of luck!
