Whim is an objectionable word in Religious talk about Him. What ever is created shall be uncreated. The term eternal life may be understood at the feet of a Sufi like master. Not in this Forum, please.

He hasn't done things on a whim the devil was one of the angels that disobeyed him by refusing to do what God had asked. So God decided to test his human creations by giving us free will & see wether we follow good/bad become God fearing or evil. It would be a waste of time if he decided to change the rules now but yeah he could if he wanted to! God can do anything but he will always be fair to us as we are his creations & he want's the best for us & loves us when we do good.

Why would you say it was a whim----He did is as part of His Plan. He is also faithful to His promises, and so since He has promised His children eternal life, He will not go back on His Word.

God doesn't act on a whim.

God is very methodical and precise, and everything He does is for a reason.

Just look at the human DNA genome project, for example! That took great thought and deliberation. Nothing "on a whim" about it.

well, I suppose if you subscribe to the notion that there is in fact an omnipotent, omnipresent being who wields ultimate authority and potential as both a creative and destructive force, then my question to you is this: why couldn't "he" or it? By means of logic, we can determine that this is possible, assuming the above- a god of such qualities does in fact "exist"- but then we are quickly faced with more problems; for example, the question comes to mind, "what quantifies 'existence'?", and "what quanitifies 'god'?" and hence are led to a host of new problems and paradoxes. if god made it, i guess she can take it away- to answer your question more directly.

God doesn't work on a whim he planned the earth, moon and stars in advance. He has set his law in motion and will not violate it.

God does not function on whims. He is all knowing. He knew exactly what he was doing and he knows exactly what will happen. If he were to undo what was done, then you and I wouldn't be having this conversation then... Would we???
