Ok... I need to lose about 40 lbs. But I am SO CONFUSED! How much should I eat? Should I be hungry or satisfied?
What should I eat? And do I really have to count calories and fat and carbs and so on??
I am 5 ft 4 in and 160 lbs. I would LOVE to be 120 again.

You need to eat until you are satisfied, but not full. If you eat until you are so full you are going to pop, you will gain more weight. Try to eat more often, like 6 small meals a day rather than 3 big ones. Breakfast is important, even if its a cup of yogart and some fruit. Try to stay away from white bread, whole milk, and sweets!! I'm trying to adhere to my own advice as well, I know its hard. Exercise daily also, at least 30 mins. You will begin to see results and have more energy in a couple of weeks. Good luck!

I'd say calories are the most important to count. Try not to eat more than 1800 a day. Look at the ingredients on the foods you eat and stay away from "partially hydrogenated" anything and "high fructose corn syrup." Don't eat or drink stuff with artificial sweetners, just go for sugar instead (your body will recognize it and tell you when to stop, but it won't recognize artificial sweetners). Try to eat more fruits and veggies with stuff. The most important thing to do to loose weight is sweat. I love the Walk Away the Pounds series, it's the most effective workout video I have ever done.

If you want to lose weight. You can cut up to 500 calories a day with out slowing down your metabolism. you need to eat veggies, fruit, meat, dairy, the only things that you really need to cut out to help lose weight is junk food and soda. I count calories not carbs or fat. Because if your eating the right foods fat and carbs don't matter.
