The BAR wasn't normally a semi-auto. The ones the gangsters used were fully automatic and sawn-off. 1919A4.com did have listings for a guy who builds reproduction semi-only copies, but unfortunately it seems like they've gone down.
It would seem that that sight would be here: http://www.ohioordnanceworks.com/semi-auto/A1918-rifle.html

RE:
Where can I find a Browning BAR M1918A2 for sale?
This is a semi-auto rifle produced from the 1920's to the 40's. It was known to be used by gangsters back in the day. Ive looked online for one but cannot find any. I would even like a reproduction if possible. Do you know of any?

I have no experience with any of these particular models, but i can tell you that the .243 Winchester is an excellent caliber for deer hunting. I've killed several whitetail deer with the .243 Winchester. Other than being low on recoil, it also has an extremely flat trajectory. Any of those models should serve you well, but the browning BAR is well known for it's reliability and is sort of the "gold standard" of semi-autos. Like I said, I have no experience with any of these particular models. But I don't think you can go wrong with the BAR.

First off the Browning BAR M1918A2 was a fully automatic Rifle that was introduced in 1939 in the 1918A2 Model/.Version, and was never manufactured in a semi-automatic version during that time. It was a "fully" automatic rifle that had a selector allowing it to switch from a cyclic rate of fire from 450 RPM to 650 RPM. Gangsters like "Bonnie & Clyde" did in fact use BAR's in their U.S. crime spree's in the "Roaring 20's" but used an earlier version of the BAR.again, fully automatic..
Since these original rifles are fully automatic they are Machine Guns under Federal Law, and are NFA class weapons subject to restrictions and Class III licensed ownership. If an original unaltered ,legally transferable, Original 1918A2 could be found it would likely cost in excess of $22,000.00+ to a Collector with a BATF authorization and Federal Tax Stamp purchase.
*NOTE Ohio Ordnance Works Inc. does manufacture semi-automatic "Reproduction" versions of both the 1918A (3) version and the 1918( WW 1) version of these firearms. Current starting prices are $5,500.00 Ohio Ordnance advises there will be a waiting list beginning in January of 2008, and they request that perspective customers call after January 1st for details on additional pricing and to be placed on the new waiting list. (As of today)

actually, the BAR was not "semi auto" it was a fully automatic magazine fed battle rifle chambered in 30-06 that could be fired "semi auto" by a trained rifleman. It is a class 3 firearm, requires all the NFA rules to be followed including the background investigation tax stamp etc.
However, there are some currently being offered in true "semi auto" form that do not require the NFA rules becasue the are truly semi auto. You will find them advertised for sale in the "shotgun news" you can get a copy at barnes and noble or other bookstores.

The BAR was way to big and heavy to be popular with "gangsters"......
Ohio Ordnanace works make the semi-auto version still, if you can afford it.........
For a genuine SEMI-AUTO Browning made BAR M1918, they do come up for sale every so often and prices have reached near $20,000. You have to regularly check the auction houses and gun auction websites.

You can try www.gunbrokers.com
This is not the weapon that gangsters used back in the day..... you are thinking of the Thompson automatic nicknamed the Tommy gun..... The BAR weighs 20 pounds and is 48 inches, 4 feet long.....so running around trying to gun people down with it would be tiring and awkward...... but either Thompson or BAR can be found on Gunbrokers.

Attend a gun show. Many collectibles are sold there. The BAR is best known as a WW2 squad support weapon.
Unless you have a permit you will only be able to buy a semi-auto version.

The BAR's are all fully auto as far as I know. The ones used by Bonnie and Clyde were stolen from military armories, and were fully auto.
